What can I do for REALLLLLY thick hair?

I'm a 17 year old white male and I have the thickest hair out of anyone I've ever met. People call me "brillo head" because my hair is so thick, coarse, and frizzy that it looks and feels like a brillo pad.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew a fairly simple and cheap way I could thin it out a little. I'm not against buying anything, but I'm not gonna spend hundreds of dollars to fix it either.

Anyone got a quick fix for thick, coarse hair?

Oh sweetie...i know what you mean. The best thing to do is first, go get a decent hairstylist to thin or "texturize" your hair. You will have to have it done pretty much everytime you get it cut or every couple of months. Don't go too short or too long, either one can make it worse. Second, you need to use separate shampoo and conditioner, not a 2 in 1 product. If your hair is really coarse or wirey, it could be due to lack of conditioning or the wrong shampoo. Go to a beauty supply store, don't worry, no one will look at you weird, and ask someone that works there for a nourishing shampoo and conditioner. A line called 'ion' works really well and they have a lot of different products for both straight and curly hair. Leave in conditioners once or twice a week wouldn't be a bad idea either. Lastly, stay away from heat styling if at all possible. If you can't then buy a heat protector to put on your hair before applying heat.

well you know you could always spen i'd say a good 50 bucks on a flat iron..it will work wonders on that head you yours..use a flat iron and straightening hair gel.the gel is about 14 bucks for a larger bottle and 5 for a small..youll be emo straight headed in no time

wow i wish i had hair like yours but it you don't like it you don't like it.you can go to a stylist and they can thin it out a bit and make it much lighter.try not to use any product that add body are volume.a regular shampoo will do along with a conditioner.you will get instant result from a hair stylist.
