I just cut my thick hair above shoulder length (right about my ears)?

and it looks ok except my hair is SO thick that it kinda poofs up in the back... I'm thinking about getting it thinning but don't know it this will work for hair that is SO short... I thought abut layers but I heard that will just make my hait look thicker and bigger... what do you guys suggest?

layers if done incorrectly will just make your hair stack up in the back and look thicker. try having your stylist run some thinning shears trough the back only and see if this helps first.

Layers! I did the same with my hair and got my layers cut out but it looked terrible, putting layers back in totally sorted the problem. Talk to your hairdresser about it she'll probably know best from looking at your hair

You should back comb your hair at the top back on the roots. It will lift your hair of and give it some volume on top so it won't look so huge on the bottom. Lift up your hair, spray the roots with hair spray, and then comb backwards at the roots towards the roots.

Yeah, get it thinned and get layers, and just go over it w/ a straightner!
