well if you have thick curly hair the best way to comb it out is to use a lot of conditoner when you go in the shower and when you get out so when you get out of the shower you can comb it way easier. then when your hair is really wet you style it however you like and put a lot of musse the best one to use is the treseme.

And if you have straight thick hair you straight it with a really hot straighting iron and put hair oil that you can get at any hair store like sally and it will leave your hair really straight and soft and again you can put it any way you like. Or again you can also put musse and it will leave your hair wavy but dont put too much musse or it will leave your hair hard and ugly you should put however amount you have it all depends aon how much hair you have.
