Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

It completely depends. Personally for me, I'm no hairier than when I started shaving. So yeah - it's pretty much an old wives tale!

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I believe it is an old wives tale because I have been shaving for a long time and sure the hair grows back ,but it does not grow back any thicker than it was in the first place.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

No, it doesn't grow back twice as thick. If you imagine a hair, it starts off thicker at the bottom and tapers off into a point at the end. When you cut it, it appears thicker/bigger because you're seeing the base of the hair. If you leave your body hair and don't shave, it won't be any thicker than when you started.

It doesn't grow back thicker, just coarser %26amp; sometimes a bit darker, therefore , may be more noticeable.

It depends on your body I guess but it's tru for my legs....I prefer waxing! Try different methods and see whats it's better for you!

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

The more you shave the quicker it comes back, I don't know if its thicker, but certainly grows quicker, I shave nearly everytime I'm in the shower, cause if I don't I start to itch, thats because you shave more and cause of them growing faster.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I've just shaved off my pubic hair for the first time (this is not a lie) so hope it's not true.

Old wives tale, just like religion and god lol.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I have been shaving for over 20 yrs,,,it is an old wife's tale for sure..but I have heard if you never start shaving then you never have to...wish I had known that many years ago...

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I wouldn't say "twice as thick" but it does grow back thicker. It's ur body regenerating itself.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I don't think those hairs grow back twice as thick, but the ones around them that weren't visible before, do grow much more thickly, so you do end up with the effect that you have lots more body hair than when you weren't shaving.

It's a tough call because you don't want to be all hairy, but you also don't want to make it worse, if that's, like, your destiny, you know?

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

I think that's just a myth. If that was the case my legs would look like an apes.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

Not true.

What happens is the hair grows back likely darker (because the lighter tip was taken off and it is now growing from the root), and feels more coarse because again, the tip is gone and there is an "end". Kind of like a blade of grass. When you let it grow long the tip isn't harsh or hard, but when it is cut, the cut end feels rough and hard.

Shaving does promote growth of the hair that was shaved - But not more hairs.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

totally not true. When you shave a hair you're cutting the end blunt instead of the soft pointed end it had before. Because it's flat on the end it will seem more course but it's really not.

Trust me - I've been shaving since I was 12. If it actually grew back thicker and darker I'd have a black forest growing under my arms, and I've had to cut through it with a weed wacker!

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

Its an old wives tale. It does not grow back thicker. It will grow back at the same thickness. Anyone that says it does either hasn't shaved before, has a thyroid problem or is talking out of their rear end.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

It just seems that way because the end is blunt and looks and feels thicker. Try waxing or epilating then the hair grows back 'pointed' and appears finer and softer.

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

No,It doestn't

Is it true that when you shave body hair it grows back twice as thick? I thought it was an old wives tale!?

You think it grows back thick its just that you have blunt cut it when you shaved try waxing or creams
