How to get thick hair stick straight?

I have extremely thick wavy hair, and i want it to be like stick straight for a party I'm going to. How can I get it to be like that without getting the Chi hair straightener (too expensive and I only have a few hours before the party)? So any recommendations for hair products I can use?

Thanks a bunch!

Blowdry hair straight and then put a product in it, such as Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine.

I'm so happy it worked out, have fun at the party! I have thick wavy hair the same length as yours, so I know it can be hard to get hair straight! Report It

You can use a maxiglide. I have medium thick frizzy/curly/wavy hair, and to do all my hair takes about 45 minutes. For you, probably a lil longer since it's thicker. It really DOES work at making unruly hair BONE straight. You don't even need a relaxer (unless your hair is nappy, like the back of mine lol). They sell them in Bed Bath and Beyond for about $80, but I tell you, it's definitely worth the investment if you like straight hair a lot!!

********I'd still say your best bet is the maxiglide, no straightening shampoos, conditioners, or blowers got my hair as straight as a salon would have gotten it besides the maxiglide.

you could try borrowing a straightener from a friend or neighbour...

im not sure if putting mousse would help, or hair wax.

you could also try blow drying your hair. the nozzle should follow your comb as you go down the length of your hair. keep it about two inches away.

Hair products... Pantene! Pantene is good because it holds hair straight. It tells what kind of use it does, like straighten curly hair. Try it. Comb ur hair a lot. Use conditioner. If u want, use hair gel. It might help u alot. so i hope this really helped!

African American relaxing products.

The effects are permenant, but work well. Decrease your hair time from the lightest setting and work from there.

I perform this on my hair once every 8 to 9 weeks for several years and it keeps nice straight hair for a while.

Don't forget to put down a decent layer of vaseline to your forehead line before applying product.

Start by using straightening shampoo and conditioner. Use Sunsilk. Remember: ALWAYS use conditioner, without it your hair can get dry from loss of moisture and damaged from combing hair with lots of knots.

Once a week you should use an intensive moisture treatment. It will weigh down your hair to make it straighter and put the moisture in that the flat iron took out.

Put on Sunsilk 24/7, leave in a straightening creme in your just washed damp hair and blow dry until completely dry. It will protect your hair from the blow dryer. Put some more in to protect it from the straightener. Straighten knot-less hair as usual. Put a serum in. Use CHI silk infusion. It smells good.
